The interim test is a drive of about an hour with a CBR examiner, in which you drive the same kind of route as in the exam. The difference: there is no result. You get feedback on what went well and what still needs attention.
Why you might do it
Two reasons. The first is that you go through the hour once: the format, the pace, someone beside you who explains nothing and only gives instructions. If you already know that, you have less to process in the exam. That is exactly why it helps with exam anxiety.
The second is that you get a judgement from someone other than your own instructor. That is useful if you are both unsure whether you are ready, or if you started at another school and do not know where you stand.
When it adds nothing
When you are still in the middle of the build-up. Driving a test before the independent drives go reasonably well produces a list of points you already knew. Your lesson card shows when it becomes worthwhile: see driving with structure. So we do not suggest it as a matter of course, but when it solves something.
What it costs
With us an interim test including hire of the lesson car costs € 295, or € 270 without. It is included in the complete package plus; the complete package contains a progress check with your own instructor, which is something else: that is our own drive without an examiner. All rates are at prices and packages.
How the real exam goes is in the practical exam in Breda. And how many lessons you need before a test makes sense is in how many driving lessons do you need.
